It’s that time of year again where we all start moaning about it being too soon for Christmas chat – but a TV channel has doubled down by starting to show festive films 24 hours a day.
That’s right, with 13 weeks left to go until the big day (let’s remind ourselves that’s a full quarter of a year) – Sony Movies Christmas has started today (24 September).
But with the UK hit with tightened lockdown measures, it might not be such a bad thing. You might want to batten down the hatches until coronavirus settles down a bit.

“Because really, when isn’t a good time to give yourself a little festive cheer?”
Well, now seems like as good a time as any.
And what can we expect to see?
Well, things will kick off A Beauty and the Beast Christmas, Marrying Father Christmas, and The Christmas Cabin
There will also be themed weekends for you to look forward to – they include Christmas Comedies, Naughty vs. Nice, Wicked Christmas, Singing for Christmas and more.
You can find Sony Movie Christmas on Freeview 50, Sky 319, Virgin 424 or Freesat 303.
And if you think that Sony are jumping the gun, they have nothing on Bauer Media, who decided to launch a radio station playing solely Christmas songs back at the end of August.

Tony Moorey, Group Content Director, Magic Radio, said: “At Magic Radio we are constantly evolving our offerings and launching innovative new shows and stations to ensure that we reflect our audience’s needs.
“With listeners seeking cheer and fun during these challenging times and a strong understanding of how music and Christmas are interlinked, we knew that the next expansion of the Magic brand had to be around the joy of Christmas.”
It’s almost like we can’t wait to see the back of this year or something, isn’t it?
